The Downtown Master Plan Advisory Committee (DAC) of the City of Carbondale, Illinois will discuss promotion strategy during its upcoming meeting on Wednesday, March 9.
The meeting will take place at City Hall, 200 South Illinois Ave., starting at 6 p.m.
The agenda includes the approval of the minutes from the Feb. 3 meeting. A number of Houseal Lavigne consultants will present their update. The results of Community Open House, held earlier on that day, will also be presented.
The Draft Downtown Carbondale Master Plan will be presented, with an emphasis on Chapter 4. The overview of the plan's development process, the planning team and DAC’s interim report will be discussed.
The structure of the plan, including Purpose and Introduction, Influences and Opportunities and Actions and Recommendations, will be reviewed. Under the Actions and Recommendations section, the land use and development framework, art, entertainment and retail district framework, and parking and transportation guidelines will also be discussed.
The downtown branding strategy and the promotion strategy will also be discussed. In the meeting, the implementation strategy will be discussed as well.
Questions and comments from DAC will be accepted thereafter. Public comments will be entertained as well. DAC Chair Jack Langowski will give the closing statement for the meeting.
