Columbia Community Unit District No. 4 Board of Education now accepting students in CEO, Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) programs.
The matters were discussed during a recent regular board meeting.
Assistant Superintendent Beth Horner said in her report two new high school programs will be offered for the 2016-17 school year. Applications to enroll in the CEO Program have been collected, with 11 of the district's high school students accepted to the program.
A new program called Running Start is also going to be offered. This program is a SWIC program offered to both juniors and seniors. Students have to attend all classes at SWIC and ultimately can obtain an associates’ degree. Parents have to provide travel and tuition expenses. Students can still participate in extra-curricular activities, if schedules permit.
Superintendent Gina Segobiano gave the mid-year budget update in her report. The report shows expenditures in all education fund areas are at the 50 percent mark. The district's budget is on target with planned expenditures.
Local revenues in each fund came in at a 97 percent collection rate. Property tax revenue represents 80 percent of the district's budget.
