Run Like a Girl 5K Run and Walk to benefit homeless

The Run Like a Girl 5K Run and Walk will take place on Saturday, May 7 at 9 a.m. at Carbondale High School (CCHS) in Carbondale, Illinois.

It is $20 for adults and $15 for CCHS students if registered before April 22; afterward it is $25 for both adults and students. Students can get a form in the high school media center or room C214, and community members can visit rivertoriver.net.

Entry forms and checks (made payable to CCHS) can be mailed to: Betsy Geiselman Run Like a Girl 5k Event, 1301 East Walnut St., Carbondale, IL, 62901.

The course starts at the Carbondale High School Walnut Streeet parking lot and will finish in the same location. People who pre-register will also receive a T-shirt; late entrants are not guaranteed a shirt. Participants are asked to pick up their race packets the day of the event, starting at 8 a.m. At the end of the race, awards will be given to the overall top male and female runner and walker and the top three runners and walkers in each age group.

Proceeds will benefit homeless and displaced persons in the community and will be split between the Women’s Center and Good Samaritan House of Carbondale.

Please note, fees are non-refundable and the event may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
