The Waterloo, Illinois City Council presented two checks worth $10,000 and $3,590.06, respectively, to the Stubborn German Brewing Co. during a recent meeting.
The $10,000 check was presented for the Façade Grant Program. The other check was from the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) for the Electric Efficiency Program.
Also in the meeting, a Raffle License Request and Waiver of Bond was considered. The request came from the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School, which would like to organize the Spring Carnival Raffle at 2 p.m. on April 22.
The Waterloo Lion’s Club made a Solicitation Request for the Annual Diabetes Day Collection, which would be held May 6-7.
The council also discussed spending $1,068.75 on advertisements in the Scott Air Force Base Newcomer’s Guide and My Base Guide Mobile App. Community Relations will pay $783.75, and $285 will be paid from the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund.
Resolution No. 16-05 which would approve a Professional Services Agreement between HMG Engineers Inc. and the City of Waterloo was also reviewed. The agreement covers two projects, the Moore Street Reconstruction Project, Phase V, not to exceed $540,000, and the Third Street Water Main Extension Project, not exceed $24,000.
