The Anna-Jonesboro, Illinois Community High School (A-JHS) Health Center now has new provider hours.
Superintendent Rob Wright informed the board education of the new hours during a recent meeting.
Wright also talked about the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) division meeting in Carterville to be held March 9.
Wright said he met with the local Kiwanis chapter for breakfast and updated them on school events. He also informed the board he had submitted an article to the Gazette. The quarterly article is supposed to inform the community about A-JCHS events.
Wright also said that the school would use a new tool called Crisis Go for the next academic year. He also said that a committee must be selected to start the collective bargaining process before March 6.
A motion approved Haleigh Lawrence and David Galvin as volunteer assistant soccer coaches pending background checks. Another motion approved the hiring Natalie Miller as a Guidance Counselor for the 2016-17 school year. A Cheerleader Camp was approved, and so was a BETA Club overnight trip to Springfield.
Madisyn Bigler was present in the meeting as a representative of the Student Council. The board was informed that the January blood drive had been rescheduled for Feb. 25 due to snow. Consequently, the April blood drive had to be delayed for a week, the board was told.
