The Mt. Vernon, Illinois City Council approved a contract for the replacement of a water line on 44th Street March 7.
The contract, with Rhutasel and Associates Inc., covers engineering services for the project. The council approved the resolution during its recent meeting.
The council also passed a resolution encouraging citizens to vote and approved a $7,466.55 bid from SourceOneSupply for an outdoor chemical storage safety locker.
Council members Dennis McEnaney, Donte Moore, Todd Piper and Mayor Mary Jane Chesley were present at the meeting. Council member Jeff May was absent.
