The Mt. Vernon, Illinois City Council met this week to review bids and appointments.
Among the items the council considered were requests to seek bids for the demolition of 14 properties, the 44th Street Water Main Replacement Project, and the construction of a temporary roadway from Davidson Drive to the new industrial park.
The council was also set to vote on several appointments and reappointments, including Sheila-Jolly-Scrivner, Mike Carbonaro, Dana Barnum and Bill Pixley to the Tourism Board; Mike Beard, Mary Ellen Bechtel, Chris Deichman and Jim Brown to the Minority Affairs and Human Relations Commission; and Craig Olsen to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The council also considered a resolution approving an agreement between the city and Local 738 International Association of Firefighters AFL-CIO.
