Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee reviews replacement of full-time officer

The City of Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee met Wednesday, April 20.

The Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee is a standing committee of the city council. Members meet monthly.

Committee Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Glenn Linnertz, Clarence Nail, Don Thompson

Committee Members Absent: David Friess

Council Members Present: Kyle Donjon, Clem Esker, Mike Reed

Others Present: Mayor Tim Lowry, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Hanebutt called the meeting to order at 7:58 P.M.

Old Business

None

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Linnertz to approve the minutes from the March 29, 2016 meeting. Carried

II. Department Activity Report

The department activity report was included in packets.

III. Letter of Resignation – Todd Ehlers

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Thompson, to accept the letter of resignation from part-time Officer Todd Ehlers. Carried

IV. Replacement of Full-Time Officer

Officer Travis Aaron will be submitting a letter of resignation effective May 18, 2016, as he has accepted a position at SIUE. Chief Brittingham is reviewing previous applications, has conducted some interviews and will have a recommendation for the May council meeting.

V. Request for Midwest Auto Creations to Be Added to Call List for Towing

Leave on agenda until Chief Brittingham is present to answer questions. Junkyards were discussed. Code Administrator Mueller will make Midwest Auto aware of the city ordinances regarding junkyards.

VI. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

None
