Fundraiser held to support Senate candidate Dale Fowler

A fundraiser for Illinois Senate District 59 (Southern Illinois) candidate Dale Fowler took place today, June 23, at Z-Factor in Harrisburg.

The eight-hour event featured family activities such as trampolining and ice skating.

Fowler lives in Harrisburg with his wife Jill, with whom he has two grown children, Hannah and Ben, and where he and his family attend First Presbyterian Church.

Fowler is a graduate of Eldorado High School. He grew up watching his parents own and operate a small business, Eldorado Locker Company, as well as a family farm. After graduating from high school. he worked as an office of operations supervisor for Secretary of State Jim Edgar.

Fowler worked for many years at the Department of Juvenile Justice, eventually becoming chief engineer for the Illinois Youth Center in Harrisburg. Fowler has been retired for four years; he was elected mayor of Harrisburg in 2014 and was re-elected in an uncontested race this past spring.

Although he is technically retired, he works for Peoples National Bank as a business development officer and is co-chairman of the Saline County CEO program.

Active in his community, he has been president of the United Way of Southern Illinois and was a founder of the Clothes for Kids program. He also co-founded the Fowler-Bonan Foundation, which assists underprivileged children in 17 Southern Illinois counties by providing them with new clothes at the beginning of each school year. He is member of Harrisburg Masonic Lodge No. 325, Harrisburg Elk’s Lodge 1058, Harrisburg Rotary and Harrisburg Kiwanis.

Presently, he is on the advisory board for the Saline County Mentors for Kids program and the board for the Saline County Senior Citizen’s Council. As an Illinois representative, he is on the Delta Regional Authority Delta Leadership Network Board of Directors.
