Fall is in the air at Marion High School, as the fall-sports seasons are about to get underway.
The Wildcats boys' and girls' golf teams get the season started with the South 7 Preview at 1 p.m. Aug. 15 at Althoff. The girls' team then is at West Frankfort for training at 4 p.m., Aug. 18 at West Frankfort Country Club, while the Wildcats boys play in the Anna-Jonesboro Invitational at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 20 at Union Country Club.
The MHS football team has its Blue/Gold Game scheduled at 6 p.m. Aug. 18, and opens the season at Haywood County, Tennessee, at 2 p.m., Aug. 27.
Girls volleyball opens the season at home against Massac County at 5:15 p.m. Aug. 23.
Boys' soccer has its own Blue/Gold Game at 6 p.m. Aug. 18 before opening the season in the Metro Cup starting Aug. 22
Girls varsity tennis opens at 4 p.m. Aug. 23 at home against Herrin, while cross country has its first meet at home, the Wildcat Fast Start, at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 25.
