Jefferson County Fiscal Committee moves forward on FY 2016-17 budget requests

FISCAL COMMITTEE MEETING

AUGUST 18, 2016

BOARD ROOM

Board Members COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: BOB WATT, CHAIRMAN, CLIFF LINDEMANN, JAMES MALONE & JEFF WILLIAMS

OTHERS PRESENT: STEVE DRAEGE, TIM MARLOW, SEAN WILKEY, DAN KNOX, CONNIE SIMMONS AND MEDIA

Connie Simmons and Dan Knox informed the Board that they will be presenting their recommendation for our new financial software next month.

Treasurer Dan Knox was present to discuss the county's finances. Please see attached documentation.

All budget proposals for FY 2016-17 are not received to date. Executive Assistant Suzy Tate is working on implementing figures from the requests to see where we are in having a balanced budget.

Claims were reviewed by the committee.

Motion by James Malone and seconded by Cliff Lindemann to recommend to the Full Board to approve the paid claims as presented.

Motion Carried. Vote – 4 aye, 0 nay

Motion by James Malone and seconded by Cliff Lindemann to recommend to the Full Board to approve the Payroll Distribution Report as presented.

Motion Carried. Vote – 4 aye, 0 nay

Reports were reviewed by the committee.

Committee Member James Malone presented information regarding some county owned properties and would like to see money put in upcoming budgets to clean some up so they can be sold. He will present more information next month.

Motion by James Malone and seconded by Jeff Williams to recess at 7:48 p.m. Motion Carried. Vote – 4 aye, 0 nay
