Anna City Council declares several properties as public nuisances

Anna City Council met Tuesday, Nov. 1.

The Anna City Council meets at 5 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of every month.

Here are the minutes as provided by Anna:

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SESSION OF THE ANNA CITY COUNCIL NOVEMBER 1, 2016

The Anna City Council met in regular session at the Anna City Hall at 5:00 p.m. on November 1, 2016. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Steve Hartline. The roll call went as follows: Present were Mayor Steve Hartline, Commissioner Brandon Bierstedt, Commissioner David Isom, Commissioner Al Kamp, and Commissioner Martha Webb. No council members were absent.

A motion was made by Commissioner Kamp and Seconded by Commissioner Isom that it be RESOLVED TO APPROVE THE OCTOBER 18, 2016 ANNA CITY COUNCIL REGULAR SESSION MINUTES AS SUBMITTED AS THE OFFICIAL MINUTES OFSAID MEETING. A Vote Was taken upon the motion with the following results. Commissioner Bierstedt, Commissioner Isom, Commissioner Kamp, Commissioner Webb, and Mayor Hartline voted yea. Nay - none. Mayor Hartline declared the motion carried.

PAWS representatives were present and discussed future plans and timelines for a PAWS facility on their property on Dogwalk Road. Mayor Hartline asked them to submit a letter outlining their plans and requests for the proposed facility for council review.

A motion was made by Commissioner Isom and seconded by Commissioner Kamp that it be RESOLVED TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 2016-26 DECLARE PUBLIC NUISANCE AT 202 E. CHESTNUT ST. A Vote Was taken upon the motion with the following results. Commissioner Bierstedt, Commissioner Isom, Commissioner Kamp, Commissioner Webb, and Mayor Hartline voted yea. Nay - none. Mayor Hartline declared the motion carried.

A motion was made by Commissioner Isom and seconded by Commissioner Kamp that it be RESOLVED TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 2016-27; DECLARE PUBLIC NUISANCE AT 102 WILLIAMS ST. A Vote Was taken upon the motion with the following results. Commissioner Bierstedt, Commissioner Isom, Commissioner Kamp, Commissioner Webb, and Mayor Hartline voted yea. Nay - none. Mayor Hartline declared the motion carried.

A motion was made by Commissioner Kamp and seconded by Commissioner Isom that it be RESOLVED TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 2016-28 DECLARE PUBLIC NUISANCE AT 623 E. HIGH ST. A Vote Was taken upon the motion with the following results. Commissioner Bierstedt, Commissioner Isom, Commissioner Kamp, Commissioner Webb, and Mayor Hartline voted yea. Nay - none. Mayor Hartline declared the motion carried.

Commissioner Webb announced that the Anna Arts Center was sponsoring a Veterans Appreciation Monday evening at 6:00 p.m.

Police Chief Hunter asked the status of the golf cart application and stickers. He will forward a copy of the Jonesboro Application to Toni Flamm for development of the application and sticker.

Fire Chief Rider reported to the council that there were 6 youth presently signed up for the Explorer Post.

Discussion was held regarding the status of the auto cleanup on Lewis St.

A motion was made by Commissioner Kamp and seconded by Commissioner Isom that it be RESOLVED TO ENTER CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS PERSONNEL & PENDING LITIGATION. A Vote Was taken upon the motion with the following results. Commissioner Bierstedt, Commissioner Isom, Commissioner Kamp, Commissioner Webb, and Mayor Hartline voted yea. Nay - none. Mayor Hartline declared the motion carried.

A motion was made by Commissioner Kamp and seconded by Commissioner Isom that it be RESOLVED TO EXIT CLOSED SESSION. A Vote Was taken upon the motion with the following results. Commissioner Bierstedt, Commissioner Isom, Commissioner Kamp, Commissioner Webb, and Mayor Hartline voted yea. Nay - none. Mayor Hartline declared the motion carried.

A motion was made by Commissioner Kamp and seconded by Commissioner Isom that it be RESOLVED TO APPROVE THE CLOSED SESSION MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 1, 2016 AS PREVIOUSLY READ AS THE OFFICIAL CLOSED SESSION MINUTES OF SAID MEETING. A vote was taken upon the motion with the following results. Commissioner Bierstedt, Commissioner Isom, Commissioner Kamp, Commissioner Webb, and Mayor Hartline voted yea. Nay - none. Mayor Hartline declared the motion carried.

A motion was made by Commissioner Kamp and seconded by Commissioner Isom that it be RESOLVED THAT THE REGULAR SESSION OF THE ANNA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF NOVEMBER 1, 2016 BE ADJOURNED AT 7:20 PM. A vote was taken upon the motion with the following results. Commissioner Bierstedt, Commissioner Isom, Commissioner Kamp, Commissioner Webb, and Mayor Hartline voted yea. Nay - none. Mayor Hartline declared the motion carried.
