Jefferson County Board accepts insurance quote

The Jefferson County Board met Dec. 15 to accept an insurance quote.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the board:

Committee members present: Steve Draege, Sean Wilkey, Joey McDermott, Time Marlow, Randy Edwards, Jeff Williams, Cliff Lindermann, Adam Ortigiesen, Bob Watt, Wayne Hicks & James Malone

Absent: Justin Fulkerson & Joyce Damron

Others present: Terry Knowles, Bruce Hapeman, Larry Goss, Robert White, Sean Featherstun & Suzy Tate

Board chairman Steve Draege called for public input. Robert White requested to pass out his workman's compensation folder prior to the quotes being opened for informational purposes.

Motion by Jeff Williams and seconded by Cliff Lindemann to recommend to the full board to accept the public defender's report as presented.

Motion carried. Vote - 11 aye, 0 nay

Quotes for the workman's compensation insurance for the county were opened and read aloud.

Bob White insurance/ CIRMA: $180,599.00

Larry Goss Insurance/ IPRF: $170,258.00 plus a safety grant in the amount of $20,806.00

Motion by Joey McDermott and seconded by Adam Ortgiesen to recommend to the full board to accept the quote from Larry Goss insurance/ IPRF for workman's compensation insurance for the county in the amount of $170,258.00 plus a safety grant in the amount of $20,806.00

Motion carried. Vote -11 aye, 0 Nay

Services committee meeting - December 15, 2016

Bruce Hapeman was present to inform the committee of the whole that the health insurance premium for county employees will not increase for the coming year. Currently the county has a self-funded plan through IPMG and the claims experience was lower than expected.

Motion by Randy Edwards and seconded by Wayne Hicks to adjourn at 7:41 pm.

Motion carried. Vote - 11 aye, 0 nay
