Jackson County Cable TV Commission renews franchise agreement

The Jackson County Cable TV Commission met Dec. 27 to renew a franchise agreement.

Call to Order (4:02 PM)

Members Present: Curkin, Reynolds and Singleton

Members Absent: Bishop and Frick

Also Present: Dan Brenner

Approval of Minutes

I. 16-2043 September 28, 2016 Minutes

A motion was made by Curkin, seconded by Reynolds, to approve the September 28, 2016 minutes as presented. The motion carried by unanimous vote.

II. 16-2044 Zito Franchise Renewal Request, Evaluation and Renewal Process Discussion Brenner reported to the committee that their request for a customer service center in the county, when Zito Media reaches 3000 customers in the county, has been approved by Zito. Next Brenner went over the contract changes that Zito requested and gave his recommendations on each and gave handouts with definitions of terms. The committee discussed his recommendations and reviewed the handouts. The committee decided to keep the provision that allows them to survey customers and they suggested that it would be nice if a Zito Media representative would attend quarterly Cable TV meetings.

A motion was made by Curkin, seconded by Reynolds, to approve recommendation of the State's Attorney's office regarding the Zito Media contract changes. The motion carried by unanimous vote.
