Pat Poore, a Southern Illinois football coaching staff member from 2001 to 2007, has returned to the Saluki staff to coach receivers, the school's website reported.
Poore began at SIU under head coach Jerry Kill and left when Kill became the head coach at Northern Illinois in 2007. He also was on Kill's staff at Minnesota until 2015.
During his first stint on the SIU staff, Poore was the quarterbacks coach for current SIU head coach Rich Hill.
Poore, a native of Stockton, Kansas, who played for and graduated from Fort Hays State University (FHSU), started his college-coaching career at FHSU in 1985. He also has coached at the Colorado School of Mines, the University of Chicago, Iowa Wesleyan, Panhandle State, Tarleton State and Central Oklahoma. Most of his assistant-coaching stints have been on offense.
Poor was also head coach of Iowa Wesleyan from 1994 to 1995.
