Don Koch, Board President, made announcement that the Board will not be riffing any teachers for the 17-18 School Year. The Board will be working with MCEA to hopefully not lay off any aides. Mr.Smith, Mr. Hayes, Aaron Clark and Principals have worked very hard and the Board says “thank you”. We will not have the Pre K program next year if the grant doesn’t come through. We believe we can save around $750,000 next year. We must understand the difference between needs and wants. The District can’t spend more than they take in. We need to look at other areas: possibly save dollars in the athletic department; Mrs. Kubitz looking for ways to save in special education; and Ms. Jacobs and the cooks looking for savings in the cafeteria. Transportation costs will also be looked at. We just all need to work together. We have a great staff and administration. That’s a plus that we have here. We just want to thank Mr. Hayes, Mr. Smith, Aaron Clark, the Association and the Audience for coming out and being concerned.

Public Comments – None.

At 6:16 PM with a motion from Sommer and a second from Steele the Board voted to adjourn. Roll call:

Pullen, Rushing, Sommer, Souders, Steele and Koch voted yes. Motion carried.
