Rep. Dave Severin (R-Benton) honored the exceptional fundraising efforts of the Zeigler-Royalton High School Coaches vs. Cancer initiative with House Resolution 379, which was adopted last week.
“The amount of money that Zeigler-Royalton has been able to raise in eight years is truly impressive,” Severin said. “In fact, each year Zeigler-Royalton has led the state in fundraising and last year ranked seventh in the entire nation. Their work shows that a small community can have a huge impact when people come together and commit to a worthy cause.”
Coaches vs. Cancer is a national fundraising partnership between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that raises funds for research, patient services and awareness. The effort also promotes a lifetime value of community service among students in participating schools.
Zeigler-Royalton has raised more than $110,000 through Coaches vs. Cancer since it began in 2009.
