Franklin County Health & Environment Committee met February 6.
Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:
The meeting was called to order at 4:50 p.m. by chair, Tom Vaughn. Not present were, Randall Crocker and Robert Pierce, in attendance were, Franklin County Clerk, Greg Woolard, Franklin County Treasurer, John Gulley, Franklin County Circuit Clerk, Jim Muir, Franklin County Coroner, Marty Leffler, Franklin County Engineer, Mike Rolla, Franklin County 7 Supervisor of Assessments, Cindy Humm, Franklin County Board Administrative Assistant, Gayla Sink, Franklin County Recycling Coordinator, Keith Ward and other interested parties.
Franklin County Coroner, Marty Leffler submitted the Coroners report for the month of January and explained same, a copy of said report is hereby attached as a part of these minutes. Mr Leffler reported he had purchased a 2007 van for use in his department. The Abbott ambulance service was discussed and reported on by Mr Leffler,
Tom Vaughn reported on activities of the Franklin County Tourism Council including attending the St Louis Boat show, and upcoming Golf Show at St Charles Missouri. Mr Waughn reported on the closing of the Rend Lake Resort and the effect it was having on tourism in the area, he stated there is several entities looking at reopening the facility. Mr Vaughn stated a publicity committee had been formed and had recently met to promote the proposed new Courthouse.
