Franklin County Road & Bridge Committee met April 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 by chair, Danny Melvin. Not present were, Neil Hargis and Robert Pierce, in attendance were, Franklin County Sheriff, Don Jones, Franklin County Circuit Clerk, Jim Muir, Franklin County Treasurer. Pam Smith, Regional Superintendent of Schools, Matt Donkin, Franklin County Engineer, Mike Rolla, Franklin County Supervisor of Assessments, Cindy Humm, Franklin County Board Administrative Assistant, Gayla Sink, Franklin County Recycling Coordinator, Keith Ward and other interested parties.

Danny Melvin submitted the highway department claims which were approved and signed by all members present.

Franklin County Engineer, Mike Rolla reported he had recently passed a bridge inspection class and the bridge project on Almond road was now complete. Mr Rolla stated there would be 2 engineering agreements for 2 bridges on the agenda for the April regular meeting. Mr Rolla reported he is working on grants for the Annex building demolition and oil and chip parking lot, discussion followed. Discussion was held concerning handicap parking at the Campbell building.

Discussion was held concerning the janitorial services at the Campbell building.

David Rea reported he had given tours of the Courthouse to channel 12 and 6 television stations,

Randall Crocker stated there would be summer help at the highway department again this summer.

The meeting adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
