State Rep. Dave Severin (R-Benton) hosted the first meeting of his Law Enforcement and First Responders Advisory Committee in West Frankfort recently, according to a press release.
“I enjoyed meeting with leaders from law enforcement and first responder communities," Severin said in the statement. "I received excellent feedback. I have a better understanding of the issues they face and how I can better serve them. Advisory committees help me do my job better. I look forward to meeting with this committee and others from a number of different fields.”
The Law Enforcement and First Responders Advisory Committee consists of local law enforcement officials throughout Severin’s 117th District who work with the representative to ensure a sound understanding of the challenges they face. At the first meeting, the committee covered several prominent issues, including asset forfeiture and how local law enforcement, first responders and state agencies can work together.
