Village of Coulterville Board of Trustees met May 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Village Board of Coulterville was called to Order in the Community Center for regular session on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 7:00 pm.

Those present for the roll call were Board members: Dyson, Long, Harvey, Knope, Wine and Hobbs.

•Moved by Harvey, Second by Knope to approve agenda as presented. All Ayes.

•Moved by Knope, second by Wine to approve Minutes for April 17, 2017 regular meeting as presented. All Ayes.

•Moved by Knope, second by Long to approve payment of invoices for May 1, 2017. All Ayes.

•Recognition of Brian Hobbs for service to the Village.

•Moved by Harvey, second by Wine to adjourn, sine die. All Ayes.

Village Clerk, Mary Shaw administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Marlow and the newly elected Board Members: Long, Knope and Campbell.

Regular Session Convened: 7:15 pm Roll call: Dyson, Long, Harvey, Knope, Wine and Campbell.

•Village President, Steven Marlow appointed: Mary Shaw as Clerk/Collector, Dale Schumer as Treasurer and Water Plant Supervisor, Jason Schlesinger as Police Chief, Alan Farris as Village Attorney, Wine and Dyson for Street and Water/Sewer Committees, Knope and Campbell for Park Committee, Harvey and Campbell for Cemetery Committee, Long and Knope for Finance Committee, Wine and Long for Recycle/Trash Committee.

Reports and Communications:

•Financial Report: Nothing to report.

•Cemetery Report: Nothing to report.

•Sewer Report: The maintenance crew came out during the power outage and kept the lift stations going with a portable generator.

•Park Report: The third ball diamond will need to be tilled due to the ruts left behind by the trucks from the Circus.

•Recycling Report: Nothing to report.

•Water report: The Water is running over the spillway due to the large amount rain.

•Street Report: Property owners should maintain their ditches and culverts to help alleviate the water back up from these rain storms. The maintenance crew Worked long hours over the weekend to keep the storm water flowing.

Public Announcements/Guest:

•Howard Price returned to discuss the invoices received from the plumber for the rental property that his daughter owns at 409 S. Fourth Street. He believes that the Village should reimburse his daughter for the costs of the sewer repairs. He again stated that he did not believe a resident should be responsible for the line from the tap to the property line. The board made no motion to help with the expenses.

•The Coulterville VFW donated $500 to the cemetery fund. Diana Cole with the auxiliary stated that it would be nice to have some benches out around the flagpole. Mayor Marlow stated that should be discussed with the VFW since they put that area in.

New Business:

•Moved by Wine, second by Dyson to approve a building permit for 114 S. First Street for a concrete patio. All Ayes

•Moved by Long, second by Wine to approve Resolution 17-501 land acquisition for IDOT along State Hwy 153 south. All Ayes.

•Moved by Long, second by Dyson to approve Ordinance 17-514 amending the community center rental fee to $40.00 and limiting rentals to Coulterville water customers only. Dyson, Long, Harvey, Knope and Campbell Ayes, Wine Nay, motion carried.

•Moved by Wine, second by Knope to approve Ordinance 17-515 alternative proposals for 107 S. Fourth Street. All Ayes.

•Mayor Marlow asked Knope, Harvey and Campbell to get acoustical boards for the community center walls.

•Moved by Knope, second by Harvey to adjourn at 7:45 pm. All Ayes.
