Waltonville Community Unit School District 1 Board met May 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Board meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Present: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker, and Williams. Absent: Anderson

Motion by Williams, Seconded by Anderson, to approve the April 27, 2017 regular board meeting minutes with the correction of Neda Banach/Webb Eastham as Policy Committee. Yea: Banach, Anderson, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Motion carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Eastham to approve the bills and treasurer's report as presented with additional bills of $2,214.41 (Frontier $600.49, Kim's Party $1,050, RLI $75, Saluki $77, Walmart $215.92, AIL $180, & Balfour $16)Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Motion carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Eastham to lock in rate with Constellation Energy at.32 Cents for the next 2 years, as long as rate hasn't changed from the.32 Cents. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Motion carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Eastham to accept the proposal from QNS to add 45 Dell computers, add 4 Aruba Instant IAP-205 and Fortigate Firewall Security for $20,653.12. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris and Walker. Nay: Williams. Motion carried.

Motion by Banach, Seconded by Williams to increase the breakfast price to $1.50, student lunch price to $2.00 and adult lunch price to $2.50. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Williams, Seconded by Walker to leave the registration fees the same as previous year. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Williams, Seconded by Walker to accept the resignations of Tyler Mitchell, Kelsey Pogue, and Emma Merritt. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Eastham, Seconded by Williams to accept the resignation of Emma Merritt as High School cheer coach. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Banach to approve Travel Credit for High School Students. Students will receive /2 credit for completing educational tour and requirements. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Nay: None. Motion carried. Motion by Banach, Seconded by Eastham to approve Board Policies-1st Reading. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Williams to go into closed session at 7:26 P.M. for the purposes of Discussing the Appointment, Employment, Compensation, Discipline, Performance, or Dismissal of Specific Employees, and Student Discipline. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Banach, Seconded by Norris to go in to open session at 8:02 p.m. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Williams to hire Libbey Reeves as the 2017/2018 High School Cheerleading Coach. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker, and Williams. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Banach, Seconded by Walker to hold a special meeting on June 5th, 2017 at 6:15 p.m. and to also hold committee meeting at 6:30 p.m. Yea: Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker, and Williams. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Anderson arrived at 8:10 p.m.

Motion by Anderson, Seconded by Banach to move the June board meeting to June 29th,2017. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker, and Williams. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Purchasing a new carpet shampooer discussed.

Mrs. Waggoner gave Principal's report.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Banach to adjourn at 8:20 p.m. Yea: Anderson, Banach, Eastham, Frick, Norris, Walker and Williams. Motion carried.
