The Anna City Council met in special session at the Anna City Hall at 4:30 p.m. on June 27, 2017. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Steve Hartline. The roll call went as follows: Present were Commissioner Brandon Bierstedt, Commissioner David Isom, Commissioner Martha Webb, and Mayor Steve Hartline present. Commissioner Al Kamp was absent.
City Administrator Steve Guined explained the Ordinance, especially page 7 & 8 about complying with Consumer Fireworks Displays. This section allows for Brad Dawson to perform the firework display. Attorney John Foley explained the ordinance was set up to allow the City of Anna to choose between Pyrotechnics or Consumer Fireworks.
Mr. Dawson has complied with the following requirement: Contract Agreement, Certificate of Training, Fireworks Permit for City of Anna and Insurance.
Fire Chief Gary Rider was directed to secure the area during the performance.
A motion was made by Commissioner Isom and seconded by Commissioner Webb that it be Resolved to approve to agree to waive the 15 day permit requirement. A. Vote was taken upon the motion with the following results. Commissioner Brandon Bierstedt, Commissioner David Isom, Commissioner Martha Webb, and Mayor Hartline voted yea. Nay - none. Mayor Hartline declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bierstedt and seconded by Commissioner Webb that it be Resolved to approve ordinance 2017-03 establishing rules and regulations for the granting of permits for pyrotechnic and/or consumer display of fire works at the city of Anna's annual July 4". Celebration. A vote was taken upon the motion with the following results. Commissioner Brandon Bierstedt, Commissioner David Isom, Commissioner Martha Webb, and Mayor Hartline voted yea. Nay - none. Mayor Hartline declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bierstedt and seconded by Commissioner Isom that it be Resolved that the special session of the Anna City council meeting of June 27, 2017 be adjourned at 5:00 pm. A. Vote was taken upon the motion with the following results. Commissioner Bierstedt, Commissioner Isom, Commissioner Webb, and Mayor Hartline voted yea. Nay - none. Mayor Hartline declared the motion carried.
