Jackson County Human Resource Subcommittee met August 1.

Call to Order (5:06 pm)
Members Present: Erbes, J.S. Rendleman and S. Bost
Members Absent: Endres
Also Present: Grant Guthman, Susie Kilquist, Dan Brenner
Approval of Minutes
I. 17-2675 June 21, 2017 Minutes
A motion was made by Erbes, seconded by S. Bost, to approve the June 21, 2017 minutes as presented. The motion carried by unanimous vote.
II. 17-2676 Personnel Handbook Revisions
The subcommittee went through the different sections of the draft policy. The committee coordinator will make the following changes as discussed:
1. 2.2 removal of words from last sentence
2. 3.2 contact person is County Board Chair or his/her designee
3. 5.1 35-40 hours as determined by department
4. 5.2 add compensatory time and change to 40 hours
5. 6.3 remove the first sentence of second paragraph
6. 6.4 make 40 hours and 240 for comp time
7. 6.5 attach copy of Ordinance 2016-10
8. 8.3 add "where the act permits"
9. 8.7 remove final sentence
10. 9.1 remove second sentence
11. 9.2 remove 9.2.1 thru 9.2.5
12. 10.1 Brenner will look at wording for next meeting
13. 10.2 paragraph six page 42 change to "may"
14. 10.3.1 E remove reference to IMRF
15. 10.14 will address at the next meeting
