City of Red Bud Cultural Committee met July 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

Committee Members Present:Kyle Donjon, Clem Esker, Glenn Linnertz, Curt Guebert

Committee Members Absent:Mike Reed

Council Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, David Friess

Council Members Absent: Susan Harbaugh

Others Present:Mayor Tim Lowry, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham

Others Absent:Admin. Assistant Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Member Donjon called the meeting to order at 7:36 p.m.

Old Business:

I.150th Year Celebration in 2017

Lowry mentioned that something was going on with the eclipse. Eckart said he is working with Quinn Johnson to set up the Heritage Days at the city hall park.

New Business:

I.Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting June 19, 2017

Recommendation made by Committee Member Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve the minutes from the June 19, 2017 meeting. Carried

II.Transient Merchant/Itinerant Vendor Ordinance

Discussion was held regarding suggestions for a food trucks ordinance.

Recommendation made by Committee Member Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Linnertz, to instruct Attorney Ray to draft an ordinance covering transient merchant/food truck licensing. Carried

III.Cub Scouts – Request Reserve Ratz Park #4, Saturday, July 22, 2017

Recommendation made by Committee Member Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve the request from Cub Scout Pack 342 to reserve Ratz Park Pavilion #4, Saturday, July 22, 2017, with no fee. Carried

IV.Request from RB Beautification to Move Santa’s Village to City Hall Park

Recommendation made by Committee Member Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Linnertz, to approve the request from Red Bud Beautification to move Santa’s Village to the city hall parking lot on December 1, 8, 15 & 22, 2017 and for the city to provide temporary electric service, trash cans, lights hung in the trees and move eight picnic tables from Ratz Park and to reserve the parking lot from 5:00 P.M. for use of the horse and carriage rides. Carried

V.Authorization to Allow Food Vendors and Music at Lincoln Park for Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017

Recommendation made by Committee Member Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Linnertz, to approve the request from the RB 150 Committee to allow food vendors and music at Lincoln Park for the Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017. Carried

VI.Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Committee Member Donjon asked about the Fitbit competition and Brittingham said that as far as he knew, he had won the last competition and it is still ongoing.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:54 p.m.
