Jefferson County Board Fiscal Committee met Sept. 21.

Here is the agenda provided by the Committee:

Committee Members Present: Bob Watt, Chairman, Jeff Williams, Ames Malone, Sean Wilkey & Cliff Lindemann

Others Present: Steve Draege, Randy Edwards, Adam Ortgiesen, Tm Marlow, Wayne Hicks, Connie Simmons, Travis Allen, Terry Knowles, Dan Knox, Mike Bullard & Suzy Tate

County Clerk Connie Simmons informed the Committee that the Christmas holidays interfere with that particular payroll date this year. County Clerk Simmons will look into a better alternative for payroll dates.

County Treasurer Dan Knox was present to discuss the county's finances. Please see attached documentation.

The procedure for payment of claims was discussed. County Clerk Connie Simmons informed those present of the steps for payment of claims. She is concerned with checks being cut and being held for a period of time. She believes that when the Treasurer signs off on a claim that checks should be distributed. If money is not available, then the Treasurer should hold on to the claim and a check not written until funds are available. Committee Chairman Watt suggested that checks not be written until funds are available.

County Administrator Suzy Tate informed the committee that figures are in for work to begin on the FY 2017-18 budget.

Motion by Cliff Lindemann and seconded by James Malone to recommend to the Full Board to approve the paid claims as presented. Motion Carried. Vote -5 aye, 0 nay

Motion by Cliff Lindemann and seconded by James Malone to recommend to the Full Board to approve the Payroll Distribution Report as presented. Motion Carried. Vote -5 aye, 0 nay

Motion by James Malone and seconded by Cliff Lindemann to adjourn.

Reports were reviewed by the Committee.

Motion Carried. Vote -5 aye, Onay
