Carbondale mayor sets 8 p.m. deadline for Halloween visitors

Pumpkin3

No tricks or treats should be going on in Carbondale after 8 p.m. on Halloween, according to Mayor John “Mike” Henry, according to the city's chamber of commerce website.

Henry is busy putting the final touches on trick-or-treat festivities across the city. Kids are being encouraged to do their doorbell ringing between 5 and 8 p.m. at homes that have indicated their participation by lighting up their porches and driveways.

“Trick-or-treaters” are also being advised to wear reflective tape or clothing and have their parents check their candy for potentially harmful objects.

Henry and City Council members are also asking for the cooperation of all residents to make sure that the evening proves to be a safe and fun-filled one for everyone.
