Ewing Northern Community Consolidated School District 115 Board met August 14.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

School board meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Board President Larry Webb.

Member Present: Adam Allsopp, Darren Fletcher, Tom Harmon, Victor Munoz, Jake Page, Larry Webb, and Craig Zinzilieta.

Members Absent: None

Visitors present: Gretchen Conley

President’s Comments: *Early registration was completed on August 1st. The Board would like to thank the following people for helping and making registration a success: Teresa Thompson, Gretchen Conley, Stephanie Jones, and Amy Hamson. Thank you to ENSO for helping as well.

2017-2018 August Enrollment 199 (with 7 Pre-K) 213 withall Pre-K and we still have registration packets out for new kids!!

*Kindergarten Picnic was nice and Board would like to thank all the teachers and staff that helped make these parent/student meetings a success.

*Third Grade, Fourth and Fifth Grade Orientation is tonight and teachers were all very prepared and ready to help student and parents.

*There will be No School August 21st due to the Eclipse.

Consent Agenda Motion by Tom Harmon to approve the minutes from the July 17, 2017 board meetings, pay bills and accept treasurers report. 2nd by Adam Allsopp. 7 ayes (Craig Zinzilieta, Jake Page, Tom Harmon, Adam Allsopp, Victor Munoz, Darren Fletcher & Larry Webb).

Beginning School Activities Mrs. Ing discussed information regarding the Teacher Institute days at the beginning of school.

Summer Projects Mrs. Ing updated the Board about the progress of the summer projects list. She informed that all projects were almost finished and will be completed in the next couple of weeks.

Tentative Budget Mrs. Ing presented the 2017-18 tentative budget. She explained that our General State Aid revenue has not been allocated due to the Governor/Legislature not passing the school funding budget.

Budget Hearing Motion by Tom Harmon to set the Date and Time for the Budget Hearing to be Monday, September 18, 2017, at 6:15pm. In the library. 2nd by Larry Webb. 7 ayes (Darren Fletcher, Tom Harmon, Jake Page, Craig Zinzilieta, Adam Allsopp, Victor Munoz, and Larry Webb).

EIS Report Mrs. Ing presented the 2016-17 EIS Position Report. This is an annual report for ISBE about each employee’s salary and position.

Principal Evaluation Motion by Victor Munoz to establish an evaluator for Mrs. Ing’s 2017-18 Principal Evaluation. Mrs. Ing’s evaluator will be Mrs. Sandra Kabat. 2nd byDarren Fletcher. 7 ayes (Victor Munoz, Jake Page, Craig Zinzilieta, Adam Allsopp, Darren Fletcher, Tom Harmon, and Larry Webb).

Enter Executive Session Motion by Larry Webb to go into Executive Session to discuss the assignment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity. 5ILCS 120/2c(1), as amended by P.A. 93-0057. 2nd by Tom Harmon. 6 ayes (Darren Fletcher, Adam Allsopp, Tom Harmon, Jake Page, Craig Zinzilieta,Victor Munoz, and Larry Webb).
