City of Red Bud Public Works Committee met Oct. 16.

Committee Chairman Linnertz called the meeting to order at 8:08 P.M.
Old Business
I. Power Plant
1. Plant Report
Eckart reported business as usual. Per Council Member Esker’s request, Eckart reported that from 2015 to 2016 G&S electric load was down 50.7%, while total city load was down only 1.3%.
II. Safe Routes to School
Eckart reported that there is still some final paper work to be completed.
III. Trailer Purchase
Eckart presented a quote for an 81X22 tilt trailer. This purchase will be included in the FY’19 budget plan.
New Business
I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting September 18, 2017
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the minutes from the September 18, 2017 meeting. Carried
II. Matt Shields Step Increase Apprentice 3 ($23.75/Hr.) – Apprentice 4 ($25.90/Hr.)
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member Donjon, to approve the step increase for Matt Shields from Apprentice 3 to Apprentice 4, with a hourly salary of $25.90. Carried
III. Sewer Lagoon – Bio Solutions Proposal
Eckart explained a proposal from Bio Solutions to do a survey on the lagoon sludge. This will be added to the FY’19 budget plan.
IV. ITEP Sidewalk Grant Application
Eckart and Mueller will work with Rhutasel to submit an updated application for an ITEP sidewalk grant for the south end of town as a continuation of the Safe Routes to School Project. There will be no charge for the application process.
V. Truck #18 – Authorization to Advertise for Truck Replacement
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve authorization to advertise for bids to replace truck #18 Carried
VI. CenterPoint Energy 2017-18 Gas Sales Exhibits
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member Friess, to approve authorizing the Mayor to sign the CenterPoint Energy 2017-2018 Gas Sales Exhibits Carried
VII.Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City
Committee Member Esker asked Eckart if he could give an explanation of why the electric rates are getting higher. Eckart will check into it and report back to the committee.
