City of Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee met Sept. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

Committee Members Present:Bill Hanebutt, Glenn Linnertz, Curt Guebert, David Friess, Kyle Donjon

Council Members Present: Clem Esker, Mike Reed, Susan Harbaugh

Others Present:Mayor Tim Lowry, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assistant Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Hanebutt called the meeting to order at 8:05 P.M.

Old Business

Restricted Parking on Bloom Street – Ordinance No. 1386

Attorney Ray will have this ordinance ready for approval at the council meeting, reserving one space on Bloom St., nearest the police department, for police parking.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Friess, to approve Ordinance No. 1386. Carried

Dedicated Parking – City Hall Parking Lot

Poetker said she is checking into buying a metal stencil for painting “reserved parking” spaces for the four city hall staff and two police spots. Poetker will contact Charlie Antry for the stencil.

New Business

I.Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – August 22, 2017 Meeting

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Friess, to approve the minutes from the August 22, 2017 meeting. Carried

II.Department Activity Report

The department activity report was included in the packets.

III.Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Chief Brittingham reported that Officer Stellhorn had been in an auto accident. The insurance has not determined if the car will be totaled or not. Brittingham will keep the committee updated.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:09 P.M.
