City of Red Bud Cultural Committee met Oct. 16.

Others Present:Mayor Tim Lowry, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assistant Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell
Committee Chairman Reed called the meeting to order at 7:57 P.M.
Old Business
I. 150th Year Celebration in 2017
Poetker said the Heritage Hoopla Days were a success and a lot of hard work went into the event. Tickets to the Nightscape Gala (12/31/17) are being sold. Shirts are still available for sale.
II. Memorial Display Wall for Past Mayors – City Hall
In addition to the plaque, Council Member Donjon would like to see pictures of at least the first president/mayor and the current mayor somewhere on the wall in city hall. Poetker said she could work on this as a future project. Alderman Esker also asked if the city could purchase business cards for the alderpersons. This will be on the council agenda.

Donjon, to approve purchase of a walnut plaque with engraved presidents/mayor names and term dates, from Gregson Advertising as bid, NTE $600. Carried
New Business
I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting September 18, 2017
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Reed, seconded by Committee Member Friess, to approve the minutes from the September 18, 2017 meeting. Carried
II. Request – Red Bud Beautification to collect at the 4 Way – November 10 & 11, 2017
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Reed, seconded by Committee Member
Linnertz, to approve the request from Red Bud Beautification to collect at the 4 way on November 10, 2017 from 2-5 P.M. and November 11, 2017 from 8 A.M.-12:00 Noon. Carried
III. Polio Proclamation – Red Bud Rotary Club
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Reed, seconded by Committee Member
Linnertz, to approve the Mayor’s signature on the Rotary International Proclamation proclaiming October 24, 2017 as World Polio Day in Red Bud. Carried
IV. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City
