City of Waterloo Insurance Committee met Nov. 3.
Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:
Present: Russ Thomas, Steve Notheisen, Jim Hopkins, Stan Darter, Clyde Heller, Shawn Kennedy
Petitions by Citizens on Non-Agenda Items: None
Liability/Workers Compensation Insurance- IMLRMA renewal was discussed with a 2.6% increase from $371,281 to $381,084. Also a 1% early pay discount is available, same as last year if paid by November 17th. The committee was happy with the proposal and wanted to take advantage of the discount.
Motion by Steve N and 2nd by Stan D to recommend this to the full council. Motion passed 5-0
Comments- Shawn discussed the initial bid from Blue Cross/Blue Shield for the health insurance renewal on 1/1/18. We will have a committee meeting with CBIZ and the employees to discuss.
Motion to adjourn by Steve N., and 2nd by Clyde H. Motion passed 5-0.
