Pinckneyville School District 50 Board met Oct. 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The president called the meeting to order and directed the secretary to take roll. The roll was taken and Austin Marlow, president and the following members were present: Greg Conway, Kyle Pursell, Aaron Johnson and Scott Carney. Also present were the following people: Tim O’Leary, Scott Wagner, Mark Rohlfing, Tyson Tanner, Cathy Wittmer and Dana Kellerman.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to approve the agenda. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to approve the minutes of the previous regular meeting on September 21, 2017 as presented. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to approve the Treasurer’s Report for September 2017 as presented. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

The bills for the month of October 2017 were submitted for payment. A discussion of the bills was held. A motion was made by Pursell and seconded by Conway to approve the bills as presented. Roll call vote: Yes –Conway, Pursell, Carney, Marlow and Johnson. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Johnson to approve the Imprest Fund Report for September 2017 as presented. Roll call vote: Yes –Pursell, Carney, Marlow, Conway and Johnson. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

Visitors and Committees were welcomed.

Evidence Based Funding – Informational Item

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to adopt the 2017 tax levy resolution as follows:

Be it resolved by the Board of Education of School District #50 that the following taxes by and the same are hereby levied against all taxable property in said District as the same are hereby levied against all taxable property in said District as the same is equalized and assessed by the Department of Revenue for the year 2017. Education 653,200; Operations and Maintenance 177,500; Transportation 85,200; Working Cash 35,500; Municipal Retirement 96,560; Social Security 71,000; Tort Immunity 206,109; Special Education 14,200; Total Levy 1,339,269. Be it resolved that said amounts be certified and returned to the County Clerks of Perry and Washington Counties. Roll call vote: Yes –Conway, Pursell, Carney, Marlow and Johnson. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Pursell to approve the Policy Manual Updates as presented. Roll call vote: Yes – Marlow, Carney, Pursell, Conway and Johnson. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried

A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Pursell to authorize the Superintendent to obtain a one year transportation contract extension with Sherman Bus for the 2018-2019 School Year. Roll call vote: Yes –Conway, Pursell, Carney, Marlow and Johnson. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Pursell to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing personnel. Time 7:11 p.m. Roll call vote: Yes – Conway, Marlow, Carney, Johnson and Pursell. Yes – 5 No – 0 Motion carried.

A motion was made by Pursell and seconded by Johnson to come out of executive session. Time 8:03 p.m. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Conway to accept the resignation of Jim Stevenson, Custodian effective Friday, October 13, 2017. Roll call vote: Yes – Conway, Marlow, Carney, Johnson and Pursell. Yes – 5 No – 0 Motion carried.

A motion was made by Pursell and seconded by Johnson to hire a full-time custodian @ $10.00 per hour plus benefits. Roll call vote: Yes – Marlow, Pursell, Conway, Johnson and Carney. Yes – 5 No – 0 Motion carried.

A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Pursell to employ Hayden Carter and Kyle Smith as 5th/6th Grade Boys’ Basketball Coaches for 2017-2018 School Year. Roll call vote: Yes – Conway, Marlow, Carney, Johnson and Pursell. Yes – 5 No – 0 Motion carried.

A motion was made by Pursell and seconded by Johnson to employ Casey Bauza and Chelsea Bumann as 5th/6th Grade Girls’ Basketball Coach for 2017-2018 School Year. Roll call vote: Yes – Conway, Marlow, Carney, Johnson and Pursell. Yes – 5 No – 0 Motion carried.

A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Pursell to adjourn the meeting. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.
