Pinckneyville Community High School District 101 Board of Education met Sept. 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Board of Education of Pinckneyville Community High School District #101, Perry County, Illinois, met in a regular session on the 25th of September, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pinckneyville Community High School in that district. The following officers and members of the Board were present: Greg Thompson, President; Lisa Stanton, Secretary; Jeff Suchomski, Jennifer Robb, Kyle Pursell, Brian Kellerman, and Greg Bigham. Keith Hagene, Superintendent, Penny Corn, recording secretary, and Dustin Foutch, Principal, were also present.

The Pledge of Allegiance was conducted and PCHS Mission Statement was read by President Greg Thompson.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call: Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

Visitors present: Marilyn Smith, Debbie Giacomo, Steve Williamson, Steve Tripi, Stephen Wagner, Jeff Wagner, Leah Wagner, Trista Ogilvie, and Stuart Morgenstern.

Visitors were welcomed and invited to address the Board. Steve Williamson congratulated the PCHS Band on the honors they earned at this year’s Apple Festival.

Dr. Foutch introduced Stephen Wagner as Murphy-Wall September Student of the Month. He praised Stephen for being an outstanding role model for his peers. He is an outstanding student, musician, and spends much time reaching out to others through mission work.

Mr. Hagene gave a presentation on the FY 18 Budget, explaining the future projections and expectations.

Steve Tripi from Schorb & Schmersahl, LLC, presented the Annual Financial Report, concluding the findings from their audit.

Mr. Hagene updated the Board on the architectural/engineering services search, and the expectations for the bus shed plans.

A second reading of Press Policy Updates was conducted.

It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve the policy manual updates as presented. Roll call: Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

There was one FOIA request this month.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Jeff Suchomski to approve the overnight and out of state trips as presented. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Kyle Pursell to accept the findings presented in the independent financial audit as presented. Roll call: Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

Mr. Hagene reported the insurance update.

It was moved by Greg Bigham and seconded by Lisa Stanton to approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Pinckneyville, Community High School District #101 and the Pinckneyville High School Education Association. Roll call: Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Brian Kellerman to adjourn the meeting at 7:42 p.m. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
