Marion City Council met December 14.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Minutes of a Special Meeting held at Marion City Hall Friday, December 14, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. Mayor Pro-Tern Rinella called the meeting to order. The roll call response was as follows:

Physically Present: Commissioners Webb and Goss and Mayor Pro-Tern Rinella.

Absent: Commissioner Hightower

Mayor Pro-Tern Rinella led the Council in saying the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.

Mayor Pro-Tern Rinella stated this is a Special Meeting having given notice of the Special Meeting forty-eight hours prior to the meeting as stated in 05/ILCS 120/2.02 with the reason for the Special Called Meeting being as follows:

1. Council approval of hiring Mike Abney as Utility Inspector to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Charles Ferguson.

Commissioner Goss made a motion to approve hiring Mike Abney to fill the position of Utility Inspector. Commissioner Webb seconded the motion.

On Roll Call Vote Commissioners Webb And Goss And Mayor Pro- Tem Rinella Voted Yea. Commissioner Hightower Absent.

4:02 p.m.

Commissioner Webb made a motion to adjourn the Special Meeting. Commissioner Goss seconded the motion.
