1. Motion by Lisa Lowry-Rohlfing, seconded by Rick Smith to approve the following consent agenda items as presented by Superintendent Stephanie Mulholland.
A. Approval of Minutes
1. Regular Meeting – November 20, 2017
B. Approve Expenditures - December, 2017
C. Approve Estimated Payroll – December, 2017
D. Accept the resignation of special education teacher, Tessa Menefee, effective December 20, 2017.
E. Approve Neal Haertling as temporary track coach for the spring of 2018.

3. Motion by Rick Smith, seconded by Lisa Lowry-Rohlfing to go into closed session at 7:09 p.m. to discuss potential litigation.

6. Nicole Brokering and Sheila Grafton presented curriculum information to the Board.
7. After conducting a hearing on the 2017 Tax Levy, as required by the Truth in Taxation Act, a motion was made by Tim Mitchell, seconded by Fred Frederking to adopt the attached 2017 Tax Levy in the amount of $1,770,421.

8. Motion by Lisa Lowry-Rohlfing, seconded by Lisa Ernsting to approve the attached Resolution abating the taxes heretofore levied for the year 2017 to pay debt service on the General Obligation School Bonds (Alternate Revenue Source), Series 2015 of Steeleville Community Unit School District No. 138, Randolph County, Illinois. Said Resolution should be filed with the County Clerk before March 1, 2018.

9. After a review of the closed session minutes for the past 6 months, motion by Rick Smith, seconded by Tim Mitchell to keep said minutes closed and confidential.

10. President Korey Bockhorn informed the Board he had changed the regular January meeting to Monday, January 8, 2017.
11. Informational Items on the Agenda
A. Budget Summary, Cash Fund Balances, Activity Fund Balances
B. Assistant Superintendent Report
1. Semester exams are December 19 & 20.
2. Registration preparation will begin in January.
3. SWIC will be giving the Accuplacer placement test in January.
4. Boys basketball team and cheerleaders will be participating in the Sesser Tournament over Christmas break.
C. SEA Negotiations – Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, December 20, 2017.
D. Window Update – Half of the window blinds have been installed and the other half will be installed over Christmas break.
E. Superintendent Mulholland shared with the Board the report from Environmental Consultants on the water lead testing and also the letter she will be sending to elementary `` parents.
12. President Korey Bockhorn appointed Rick Smith as Secretary of the Board of Education due to the resignation of Board Secretary Shelley Dintelman.
13. Motion by Rick Smith, seconded by Fred Frederking to adjourn the regular meeting at 8:14 p.m.
