Pinckneyville Community High School District 101 Board of Education met December 18. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Pinckneyville Community High School District #101, Perry County, Illinois, met in a regular session on the 18th of December, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pinckneyville Community High School in that district. The following officers and members of the Board were present: Greg Thompson, President; Lisa Stanton, Secretary; Jennifer Robb, Brian Kellerman, Kyle Pursell, Greg Bigham, and Jeff Suchomski. Keith Hagene, Superintendent, Penny Corn, recording secretary, and Dustin Foutch, Principal, were also present.


The Pledge of Allegiance was conducted and PCHS Mission Statement was read by President Greg Thompson. It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

Visitors present: Steve Williamson, Marilyn Smith, JC Moll, Savannah Cheek, Keith Goldman, Hannah Epplin, Sydney Wright, Daisy Dudek, Kyle Kreger, Steven Wagner, Shania Opp, Tyler Restoff, William Moll, and Pam Dudek.

Visitors were welcomed and invited to address the Board. Steve Williamson congratulated the Illinois State Scholars and encouraged them to keep up the good work.

Dr. Foutch presented the seniors who achieved Illinois State Scholar recognition, and asked the students to introduce themselves and tell their college plans.

Mr. Hagene discussed the Evidence Based Funding Model Status and budget items.

It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Greg Bigham to direct Superintendent Hagene to begin the process of negotiation with Baysinger Architects LLC for district architect services as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Kyle Pursell to approve the proposal from Crane Revolving Door for $14,195 as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

There was one FOIA Request this month.

Mr. Hagene presented an overnight trip request from Mr. McAllister to the FFA Conference in Collinsville on February 9 & 10.

It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Kyle Pursell to approve the overnight trip as presented. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Jennifer Robb to approve the policy updates as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Jeff Suchomski to accept the resignation of Mr. Mark McDaniel as Assistant Golf Coach. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Brian Kellerman to enter closed session at 7:10 p.m. for the purpose of discussing appointment, employment, compensation and performance of personnel. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Jennifer Robb to return to open meeting at 8:42 p.m. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Kyle Pursell to adjourn the meeting at 8:46 p.m. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
