City of Red Bud Finance Committee met Nov. 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

Committee Members Present:Susan Harbaugh, Bill Hanebutt, Mike Reed, David Friess

Committee Members Absent:Clem Esker

Council Members Present: Curt Guebert, Kyle Donjon, Glenn Linnertz

Others Present:Mayor Tim Lowry, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell, Finance Clerk Dustin Ziebold

Others Absent:Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham

Committee Chairman Harbaugh called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Old Business

Parks & Recreation Projects

A.Proposed Maintenance Projects

Josh Eckart explained a proposal he had received from Stormwater Erosion Specialties for dredging the NCCC Lake. Discussion was held on this project, as well as the ball diamond lights, bathhouse improvements, splash pool and the need to prioritize and outline a good 5 year plan for the parks department. This will be left on the agenda.

B.Spray Pad Project

Discussed above, leave on agenda.

Code of Ordinances Rewriting and Restructuring Process Update

To date, Attorney Ray has spent $9,421.50 and is reorganizing the last chapter, chapter 40.

Industrial Park Property Acquisition, Lease Update and Ordinances

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Harbaugh, seconded by Committee Member Reed to approve Ordinance No. 1388, “An Ordinance Approving The Purchase Of Real Estate Owned By Guebert Family in Red Bud, Illinois” Carried

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Harbaugh, seconded by Committee Member Friess to approve Ordinance No. 1389, “An Ordinance Approving The Purchase Of Real Estate Owned By Voges Trust in Red Bud, Illinois” Carried

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Harbaugh, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt to approve Ordinance No. 1390, “An Ordinance Approving A Lease Of Municipal Real Property.” Carried

Business Cards

Poetker asked if she should buy the business cards online or locally, which cost a little more. Any council member wishing to have business cards should contact Pam Poetker.

New Business

I.Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – October 16, 2017

Recommendation made by Committee Member Reed, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the minutes from the October 16, 2017 meeting. Carried

II.Maturing CDs

III.Insurance Renewals

A.Contract with Kevin Hutchinson

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Harbaugh, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the insurance policy renewals as presented in the packets. Carried

BPackage Policy – Property, Liability, Crime, Professional, Auto

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Harbaugh, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the insurance policy renewals as presented in the packets. Carried

C.Worker’s Comp. Policy

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Harbaugh, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the insurance policy renewals as presented in the packets. Carried

D.Boiler Policy

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Harbaugh, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the insurance policy renewals as presented in the packets. Carried

E.Blanket Accident Policy

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Harbaugh, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the insurance policy renewals as presented in the packets. Carried

IV.Tax Levy Ordinance No. 1391

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Harbaugh, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt to approve “Tax Levy Ordinance No. 1391.” Carried
