Village of Cobden Board of Trustees met January 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Call to Order:

Village President Paul Z. Tomazzoli called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.

Roll Call:

Upon roll call, the following Trustees were present: Jean A. Britt Elvis Pearson

Patrick Brumleve Austin Sellars

Alma Gomez David Stewart

Also Present: B. J. Hale, Jesse Vicente, Jovo Mejia, Estrella Godinez, Larry Hackethal, Terri Addison,

Cindy Royster, Philip Royster

Minutes of the January 2, 2018 Regular Meeting:

Motion was made by Stewart, seconded by Sellars, to approve the Minutes of the January 2, 2018 regular meeting as presented. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 6 – Britt, Brumleve, Gomez, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 0 – None

Motion declared carried.

Visitors:

Appleknocker Pizza – Terri Addison, Cindy Royster and Philip Royster introduced themselves as the new owners of the business located at 215 North Appleknocker Drive – Appleknocker Pizza. They plan to open in mid-February. Their intent is a family-oriented restaurant and look forward to participating in community events.

Jovo Mejia, Estrella Godinez and Larry Hackethal did not have any matters to discuss with the Board.

Approval of Bills and Salaries:

Motion was made by Stewart, seconded by Brumleve, that presented bills in the amount of $43,260.26 and regular salaries be approved for payment. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 6 – Britt, Brumleve, Gomez, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 0 – None

Motion declared carried.

Budget Report:

Motion was made by Pearson, seconded by Sellars, to approve the Budget Report for the period ending January 10, 2018, as presented. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 6 – Britt, Brumleve, Gomez, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 0 – None

Motion declared carried.

Line Item and Other Transfers:

Motion was made by Brumleve, seconded by Stewart, to authorize line item and other transfers as presented. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 6 – Britt, Brumleve, Gomez, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 0 – None

Motion declared carried.

Employee Expense and Overtime Report:

The Employee Expense and Overtime Report for the period ending December 31, 2017 was presented.

Village Clerk’s Report:

Motion was made by Brumleve, seconded by Sellars, to approve the Village Clerk’s Report for the period ending December 31, 2017, as presented. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 6 – Britt, Brumleve, Gomez, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 0 – None

Motion declared carried.

Village Treasurer’s Report

Motion was made by Pearson, seconded by Brumleve, to approve the Village Treasurer’s Report for the period ending December 31, 2017, as presented. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 6 – Britt, Brumleve, Gomez, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 0 – None

Motion declared carried.

Monthly Police Report:

The Monthly Police Report for the period ending December 31, 2017 was presented.

Auxiliary Police Department:

Motion was made by Brumleve, seconded by Sellars, to appoint Tara Houseman and Travis Wisely to the Auxiliary Police Department and to remove from the roster Max Cohen and Scott Strudwick. Upon roll call, the vote was:

9-1-1 Intergovernmental Agreements – Union County:

Motion was made by Brumleve, seconded by Pearson, to approve renewal of the agreements with Union County for 9-1-1 call handling for the police and fire departments. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 6 – Britt, Brumleve, Gomez, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 0 – None

Motion declared carried.

Adjournment:

Motion was made by Brumleve, seconded by Pearson, that the Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees be adjourned. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
