Analysis: Chester pays $2.86 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Chester Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.1 percent of the $177,481 the Chester Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.86 for every $1 from pension members, according to a SW Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Chester contributed $131,575 to the fund, which saw a $5,190 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $45,907, or 25.9 percent, in 2016.
