Analysis: Pinckneyville pays $7.08 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Pinckneyville Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 87.2 percent of the $232,893 the Pinckneyville Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $7.08 for every $1 from pension members, according to a SW Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Pinckneyville contributed $203,176 to the fund, which saw a $18,919 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $28,662, or 12.3 percent, in 2016. Another $1,055 came from other unspecified sources.
