Report: Duquoin spent $9,696 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Duquoin Community Unit School District 300 is up 4 percent from five years ago, according to a SW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Perry County school district spent $9,367 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,696 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1499 to 1520.

Duquoin's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
