Pinckneyville Community High School District 101 Board of Education met April 23.

The Board of Education of Pinckneyville Community High School District #101, Perry County,
Illinois, met in a regular session on the 23rd of April, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pinckneyville
Community High School in that district. The following officers and members of the Board were
present: Greg Thompson, President; Lisa Stanton, Secretary; Jennifer Robb, Brian Kellerman,
Greg Bigham, Kyle Pursell, and Jeff Suchomski. Keith Hagene, Superintendent, Dustin Foutch,
Principal, and Penny Corn, recording secretary, were also present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was conducted and PCHS Mission Statement was read by President Greg
Thompson.
It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Jeff Suchomski to approve the consent agenda as
presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Greg
Bigham, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
Visitors present: Steve Williamson, Marilyn Smith, Megan Mayo, Nathan Bauersachs, and Stuart
Morgenstern.
Visitors were welcomed and invited to address the Board. Steve Williamson asked for information about
the upcoming pro wrestling Cage Match fundraiser planned for May 26.
Dr. Foutch introduced Megan Mayo as Murphy Wall April Student of the Month. Megan is a very
positive, upbeat person who is involved in many activities, including this year’s successful softball team.
She intends to attend Murray State University next year to major in nursing.
Mr. Hagene gave a facilities update.
There were no FOIA requests this month.
The cheerleaders and softball team have requested overnight trips.
It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Lisa Stanton to approve the overnight and out of state
trips as presented. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Jennifer Robb and seconded by Kyle Pursell to adopt the SY18-19 school calendar as
presented. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Brian Kellerman to make the amended FY18 Budget
available for public display in the PCHS central office for 30 days as necessary before formal adoption.
Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
Dr. Foutch introduced a new Board policy, concerning no Sunday activities, to consider and possibly
adopt next month.
It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve the athletic training services
between PCHS District #101 and the Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois for the sum of $28,000 for
the 2018-2019 school year. Roll call: Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle
Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion
carried.
It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Kyle Pursell to approve Walter Eiskant as Volunteer
Assistant Wrestling Coach for the 2018-2019 school year. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Kyle Pursell to employ Nolan Kellerman as Assistant
Boys Golf Coach for the 2018-2019 school year. Roll call: Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Greg
Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All
ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Lisa Stanton to adjourn the meeting at 7:12 p.m.
