Pinckneyville School District 50 Board met February 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

A regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #50, Perry and Washington Counties, Illinois was held at the Pinckneyville Grade School Building in said district at 7:00 p.m. on February 15, 2018.

The president called the meeting to order and directed the secretary to take roll. The roll was taken and Austin Marlow, president and the following members were present: Kyle Pursell, Aaron Johnson and Gideon Hutchcraft. Scott Carney, Greg Conway and Craig Lazenby were not in attendance. Also present were the following people: Tim O’Leary, Scott Wagner, Mark Rohlfing, Tyson Tanner, Amanda Duvardo and Lauren Piper.

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Pursell to approve the revised agenda. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Pursell and seconded by Hutchcraft to approve the minutes of the previous regular meeting on January 18, 2018 as presented. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Pursell to approve the Treasurer’s Report for January 18, 2018 as presented. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

The bills for the month of February 2018 were submitted for payment. A discussion of the bills was held. A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Johnson to approve the bills as presented. Roll call vote: Yes –Johnson, Hutchcraft, Marlow and Pursell. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried. (Carney arrives 7:01 P.M.)

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Pursell to approve the Imprest Fund Report for January 2018 as presented. Roll call vote: Yes – Marlow, Johnson, Carney, Hutchcraft and Pursell. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Pursell and seconded by Johnson to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing student suspensions, negotiations and personnel. Time 7:02 p.m. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Marlow, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Hutchcraft to come out of executive session. Time 8:11 p.m. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Pursell to grant maternity leave for Lauren Piper. Roll call vote: Yes –Hutchcraft, Johnson, Marlow, Carney and Pursell. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to hire Shane Jones for negotiations. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Marlow, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Johnson to adopt the IMRF Resolution to include Cash Payments related to Health Insurance as IMRF Earnings. Roll call vote: Yes – Johnson, Carney, Hutchcraft, Marlow, and Pursell. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Pursell and seconded by Johnson to transfer Jacky Blum to Fourth Grade for the 2018 – 2019 School Year. Roll call vote: Yes – Hutchcraft, Carney, Johnson, Marlow, and Pursell. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Pursell to transfer Elaine James to the Special Education Teaching position at Pinckneyville Elementary School for the 2018 – 2019 School Year. Roll call vote: Yes – Hutchcraft, Carney, Johnson, Marlow, and Pursell. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Pursell and seconded by Hutchcraft to accept the resignation of Cathy Rezba, Fifth Grade Teacher at the end of the 2019 – 2020 School Year. Roll call vote: Yes –Johnson, Hutchcraft, Marlow, Carney and Pursell. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to adjourn the meeting. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.
