Rep. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) joined in on a Democratic-backed resolution.
During the May 30 House floor debate, Bryant had a few words to say about HR 1142, sponsored by Rep. Jerry Costello (D-Red Bud), and commending the Pinckneyville High School Bass Fishing Team for their first IHSA-Unified Bass Fishing State Championship.
“I would like to join Rep. Costello in congratulating the bass fishing team,” Bryant said. “A lot of folks don’t realize how important bass fishing is to our region.”
Costello said that team members Dalton Pyatt and Kyle Kreger were two incredible young men.
“I would also really like to thank [team captain] Scott [Kreger] for the guidance you have given and the time you have spent with these two young men,” Costello said.
Bryant said the sport is near and dear to her heart since her daughter-in-law used to compete in bass fishing.
“She has refused to fish with my son because he is really not good and she is really good,” Bryant said.
