Red Bud City Council met May 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Members Present: Clem Esker, Curt Guebert, Mike Reed, Bill Hanebutt, Glenn Linnertz, David Friess, Kyle Donjon, Susan Harbaugh

Members Absent:Mayor Tim Lowry

Others Present:  City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, City Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

1.Call to Order at 9:20 P.M. by Council Member Bill Hanebutt

II.Roll Call by City Clerk Joanne Cowell

III. SIU-E Internship

Motion made by Council Member Linnertz seconded by Council Member Harbaugh, to approve the SIU-E Internship.  The vote was as follows:  Esker, aye; Guebert, aye; Reed, aye; Hanebutt, aye; Linnertz, aye; Friess, aye; Donjon, aye; Harbaugh, aye.  Motion carried.

IV. Clearwave Agreement

To allow Clearwave Communications to install a line from W.S. Second Street down Locust to W.S. Fourth Street to SWIC, with a permit fee of $200 and to work with Josh Eckart on the line placement.

Motion made by Council Member Reed seconded by Council Member Guebert, to approve the Clearwave Agreement.  The vote was as follows:  Guebert, aye; Reed, aye; Hanebutt, aye; Linnertz, aye; Friess, aye; Donjon, aye; Harbaugh, aye; Esker, aye.  Motion carried.

V. Employee Pay Increases

Approve 2% pay increases to all staff, commencing with the first full pay period in May, 2018

Motion made by Council Member Harbaugh seconded by Council Member Guebert, to approve employee pay increases.  The vote was as follows:  Reed, aye; Hanebutt, aye; Linnertz, aye; Friess, aye; Donjon, aye; Harbaugh, aye; Esker, aye; Guebert, aye.  Motion carried.

VI. FOP Contract Approval

Approval of the Illinois FOP Labor Council and City of Red Bud Agreement - May 1, 2018 – April 30, 2021

Motion made by Council Member Linnertz seconded by Council Member Friess, to approve the FOP Contract.  The vote was as follows:  Hanebutt, aye; Linnertz, aye; Friess, aye; Donjon, aye; Harbaugh, aye; Esker, aye; Guebert, aye; Reed, aye.  Motion carried.

VII.Termination of Employee

Approval of termination of Eric Schaefer, effective 5/9/18

Motion made by Council Member Linnertz seconded by Council Member Friess, to approve the termination of Eric Schaefer.  The vote was as follows:  Linnertz, aye; Friess, aye; Donjon, aye; Harbaugh, aye; Esker, aye; Guebert, aye; Reed, aye; Hanebutt, aye.  Motion carried.
