History Museum of Monroe County recently issued the following announcement.

Today’s program focuses on the forts and block houses of Illinois during the War of 1812, specifically Whiteside Station here in Monroe County. Kevin is a direct descendant of this pioneer family who came to this area in 1793. His Revolutionary grandfather is John Whiteside who is buried here in the Moore Cemetery part of museum’s historical surroundings. Kevin has been presenting on Illinois History for 35 years and is currently president of the Bond County Historical Society in Greenville.
