The City Council of Red Bud, Randolph County, Illinois met on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. at Red Bud City Hall, City Council Chambers.

A.Presentation of Scholarship to Griffin Ziebold

Mayor Lowry read a letter of notification of a $500 scholarship award from IMEA to Griffin Ziebold. Josh Eckart and Mayor Lowry presented Griffin with a plaque and the check.

B.Presentation of Plaque – Richard Roehrkasse

Mayor Lowry presented Rickard Roehrkasse with a plaque and thanked him for his years, from 1983-2018, of dedicated service to the City of Red Bud Planning Commission.

Motion made by Council Member Harbaugh, seconded by Council Member Reed, to authorize approval to transfer funds from parks capital fund to cash account in the amount of $9,500 to pay expenses for a building project at the sports complex. 1.Authorization to Hire Part-Time Employee for Parks

Eugene Gruber is planning on retiring from his part-time position at the park as soon as he can be replaced.

Motion made by Council Member Linnertz, seconded by Council Member Hanebutt, to approve authorization for Josh Eckart to hire a part-time employee for the parks, with the consent of Mayor Lowry and Committee Chairman Linnertz. 2.Training Request – R. Timmons

Motion made by Council Member Linnertz, seconded by Council Member Donjon, to approve authorization to send Rick Timmons to training titled “Disaster Management for Water Utilities” in Benton, IL on June 18-19, 2018. 3.Lead & Copper $5 Coupons

Motion made by Council Member Linnertz, seconded by Council Member Hanebutt, to approve authorization to offer a $5 coupon toward a customer’s water bill for participating in the lead and copper testing program.
