The Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) will co-sponsor one of the premier youth shooting events in the country.

The Academics Integrity Marksmanship (AIM), a two-day event, kicks off on Saturday, July 28 at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta.

“This is one of those events that helps Pass the Torch of Freedom [sic],” ISRA Executive Director Richard A. Pearson said in a bulletin to members. “I look forward to seeing you there.”

ISRA is looking for 30 volunteers to help pull off the event. Duties include helping load magazines, assisting kids with shooting and preserving safety.

The times are from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 8:30 a.m to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Lunches and refreshments will be provided and all volunteers will receive a special ISRA volunteer hat and goody bag.

Volunteers will also receive a work day card that enters them in a drawing for a new Ruger 10/22. If you work both days, you will receive two chances to win the rifle.

Those interested in volunteering should email the ISRA at member@isra.org and include your name, address, phone number, email address and availability.
