Columbia Community Unit School District No. 4 Board of Education met June 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

I.Call to Order And Roll Call

Vice-President Scott Middelkamp called the special meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. in the District Board Room.

II.Welcome/Recognition Of Visitors

Vice-President Middelkamp welcomed the public.

III.Public Comments/ Correspondence

None

IV. Items for Action

A. Employment of Certified Personnel

a. Guidance Counselor

Motion to Employ Krystin Baker as Guidance Counselor-

Motion was made by John Long, seconded by Randy Simmonds to employ Krystin Baker as a guidance counselor for Columbia CUSD 4.

On a roll call vote:

Anderson-Absent, Hines-Absent, Long-Aye, Middelkamp-Aye, O’Connor-Aye, Roessler-Absent, Simmonds-Aye.

The motion carried, 4-Aye, 3-Absent, 0-Nay

b. Special Education Teacher

No action was taken

c. Assistant Principal

Motion to Employ David Ackerman as CMS Assistant Principal-

Motion was made by Greg O’Connor, seconded by John Long to employ David Ackerman as the assistant principal at Columbia Middle School.

On a roll call vote:

Hines-Absent, Long-Aye, Middelkamp-Aye, O’Connor-Aye, Roessler-Absent, Simmonds-Aye, Anderson-Absent.

The motion carried-4-Aye, 3-Absent, 0-Nay

B. Approval of Application for Building Permit for Ventilation/Welding Project

Motion to Approve Application For Building Permit For Ventilation/ Welding Project-

On a roll call vote:

Long-Aye, Middelkamp-Aye, O’Connor-Aye, Roessler-Absent, Simmonds-Aye, Anderson-Absent, Hines-Absent.

The motion carried-4-Aye, 3-Absent, 0-Nay

C. Approval of Application for Building Permit for Track Respray

Motion to Approve Application For Building Permit For Track Respray-

Motion was made by John Long, seconded by Randy Simmonds to approve the Application for Building Permit for the Track Respray pending acceptable plans and specification submitted by a licensed architect.

On a roll call vote:

Middelkamp-Aye, O’Connor-Aye, Roessler-Absent, Simmonds-Aye, Anderson-Absent, Hines-Absent, Long-Aye.

The motion carried-4-Aye, 3-Absent, 0-Nay

D. Approval of 2018-2019 Student Handbooks

Motion to Approve 2018- 2019 Student Handbooks-

Motion was made by Greg O’Connor, seconded by John Long to approve the 2018-2019 Student Handbooks for Eagleview Elementary, Parkview Elementary, Columbia Middle School, and Columbia High School.

On a roll call vote:

O’Connor-Aye, Roessler-Absent, Simmonds-Aye, Anderson-Absent, Hines-Absent, Long-Aye, Middelkamp-Aye.

The motion carried-4-Aye, 3-Absent, 0-Nay

V.Adjourn - 6:30 p.m.

With no further business to come before the Board, it was moved by Randy Simmonds, seconded by Greg O’Connor, to adjourn the meeting. Vice-President Middelkamp adjourned the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
